Critical Incident Response Services
A critical incident can be a serious accident, fatality or traumatic event. These can occur anywhere and at any time. Whether they occur at a worksite or not, the impact of these types of events can have a profound impact on those people who were either witness to or knew the victim(s).
These types of incidents typically heighten stress reactions in most people and often impede the employee’s ability to perform their duties as they normally would. Having the opportunity to debrief what occurred decreases the negative impact these stress reactions can have on those affected.
PSN counseling staff are trained in the spectrum of interventions included in responding to and managing a Critical Incident. These interventions include being available to consult with management about how to proceed immediately following such an incident, providing on-site grief counseling for affected individuals, as well as facilitating a defusing (0-8 hours) and/or debriefing (24-48 hours) after the incident .
PSN also provides follow-up services such as on-going counseling and other necessary support for those affected employees and family members as required or recommended.
